Sheaffer Legacy Heritage Victorian Series Special Edition

There is one good thing about Sheaffer. They don't always make limited edition pens. At least not annually. There is one thing I learn from all these years of pursuing LE pens...the pen maybe limited in number, but the theme is unlimited.

The Sheaffer Victorian series is a special edition. Launch in 2005, the number of pens produce is based number of orders from Sheaffer dealers. There are 400 pieces made for US market. No information on worldwide orders. Pen makers always have to deal of problems of leftover stock if an LE pen is don't sell well. Special Edition or low LE numbers are the safest.

The Victorian series is based on Sheaffer's flagship Legacy model. This is the model I like most. As it is short, it balances well on my small hand. The fat barrel allows comfortable grips. Although it is a bit heavy, it doesn't matter as we don't write for long hours. However the weight give you a definite feel of its present, which I prefer.

The pen has sterling silver cap and barrel engraved with Victorian pattern. Such ornate patterns are commonly found on Victorian wallpaper and linen. I'm rather surprise how Sheaffer is able to achieve such complicated engraving pattern. The amount of work done is definitely worst the price, not to mention that it's a solid sterling silver pen.

Nib is palladium plated inlaid nib. Inlaid nib is a Sheaffer's innovation in 1959. It was introduced with the Pen For Men (PFM) model. It give the pen a smooth, sleek look. Together with the shape of the pen, you will not be mistaken this is a men's pen. Legacy is a continuation of the PFM. It looks exactly the same as the PFM but with a modern filling mechanism.

With so few number of LE or SE pens produced in the last 10 years (compare to other brand). How can we miss this piece?
